DTC B28A4: Eyesight Communication (EPS)

DTC detecting condition: 

• When the power steering control module (EPS Control Module) detects the malfunction of stereo camera.
• Defective CAN system
• Defective EPS Control Module
• Defective stereo camera

Trouble symptom: 

All functions of EyeSight system do not operate.

1. CHECK LAN SYSTEM  .

   Perform the diagnosis for LAN system. Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE

   Is the check result OK?

   Yes  : Go to  2.

   No  : Repair or replace the faulty portion according to the inspection result.

2. CHECK EPS CONTROL MODULE  .

   Perform the diagnosis for the power steering system. Ref. to POWER STEERING (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE

   Is the check result OK?

   Yes  : Go to  3.

   No  : Repair or replace the faulty portion according to the inspection result.

3. CHECK CONNECTOR  .

   Check the EPS Control Module connector and the stereo camera connector.

   Is the check result OK?

   Yes  : Go to  4.

   No  : Repair or replace the faulty portion according to the inspection result.

4. CHECK STEREO CAMERA  .

   Read the DTC of [EyeSight] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to EYESIGHT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 

   Is any DTC other than DTC B28A4 displayed? (Current code)

   Yes  : Perform the diagnosis of DTCs other than B28A4. Ref. to EYESIGHT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 

   No  : Go to  5.

5. CHECK STEREO CAMERA  .
   1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [EyeSight]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY
   2. Read the DTC of [EyeSight] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to EYESIGHT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 

   Is DTC B28A4 displayed? (Current code)

   Yes  : Replace the stereo camera. Ref. to EYESIGHT>STEREO CAMERA

   No  : Currently, it is normal. Finish the diagnosis.
