Front Seat

CAUTION:
  • Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to  AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION 
  • The load sensor of the occupant detection system is fixed to the cushion frame assembly. Do not remove the load sensor from the cushion frame assembly. 
  • When the cushion frame assembly of the passenger's seat is replaced, the seat harness and load sensor are assembled. When replacing the cushion frame assembly, do not touch the load sensor to avoid electrical damage. 
  1. Prior to starting work, check the following precautions. Ref. to SEATS>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION 
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY
  3. Remove the front seats. Ref. to SEATS>FRONT SEAT>REMOVAL 
  4. Remove the front seat surface. Ref. to SEATS>FRONT SEAT>DISASSEMBLY 
  5. Remove the seat heater unit.
    CAUTION:
    • If the seat heater unit is removed, replace the seat pad assembly with a new part. 
    • If the seat heater unit is reused, remove the polyurethane section and double-sided tape from the reverse side completely. Use new double-sided tape. 

      Preparation items: 

      Double-sided tape: NITTO DENKO 501L or equivalent
