  1. CHECK DTC EXCEPT FOR HIGH BEAM ASSIST SYSTEM  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read all DTCs. Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)

    Are any DTCs displayed?

Yes  : Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST

    No  : Go to  2.

  2. CHECK DATA MONITOR  .

Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [Body Control]. Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR

    • Illumination Sensor Setting
    • High Beam Assist Function Setting (mirror/EyeSight)
    • High Beam Assist Current Setting

    Are the settings as follows?

    • Illumination Sensor Setting: Support
    • High Beam Assist Function Setting (mirror/EyeSight): mirror HBA
    • High Beam Assist Current Setting: ON

    Yes  : Go to  3.

No  : Change the customize settings of the body integrated unit as follows.

    • Illumination Sensor Setting: Support
    • High Beam Assist Function Setting (mirror/EyeSight): mirror HBA
    • High Beam Assist Current Setting: ON
  3. CHECK POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the high beam assist module connector. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>REARVIEW MIRROR
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Use a tester to measure the voltage between the terminals.

      Connector & terminal

      (Rf44) No. 8 (+) - (Rf44) No. 2 (-):

Is the voltage 10 V or more?

    Yes  : Go to  4.

No  : Check the power supply line.

  4. EXECUTION OF RESTARTING  .
    1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Body Control]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for at least 15 seconds.
    3. Meet the following conditions for the high beam assist operation.
      • Light SW position: Auto
      • Dimmer Hi SW: ON
      • Shade the illumination sensor for the vehicle auto lighting.
      NOTE:

If the headlight Lo illuminates without shading the illumination sensor while the Light SW position is Auto, the auto lighting system may be faulty.

Does the high beam assist indicator illuminate?

Yes  : The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

    NOTE:

In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.

    No  : Go to  5.

  5. CHECK DATA MONITOR  .

Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [Body Control]. Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR

    • <HBA>Head Lamp Low Beam Specification
    • <HBA>Head Lamp High Beam Specification

Does it match the vehicle specification?

    Yes  : Go to  6.

No  : Check the customize settings of the body integrated unit. When the customize settings for the body integrated unit are correct, replace the high beam assist module. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOWS/MIRRORS>REARVIEW MIRROR

  6. CHECK DATA MONITOR  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
