Rear Seat Reclining System: Removal

CAUTION:
  • Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  • Side impact sensor (under the rear center seat) for the airbag system is located under the front center of the rear seat cushion. Be careful not to apply strong impact to the sensor when working with the rear seat cushion removed.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the rear seat. Ref. to SEATS>REAR SEAT>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the trim panel assembly apron. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>REAR QUARTER TRIM>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the bolts, and then remove the striker backrest rear.
    1. Remove the clamp, and then remove the reclining strap holder.
    2. Remove the bolts, and then remove the striker backrest rear.

  5. Remove the stay rear floor.
    1. Remove the harness clamp.
    2. Remove the bolts, and then remove the spring BRKT.
    3. Remove the nuts and bolts, and remove the stay rear floor.
