DTC C1412: Selected Parameter

DTC detecting condition:

A fault is detected if abnormal set value is found on the vehicle model that were given some parameters.

Trouble symptom:

ABS does not operate.
VDC does not operate.
AVH does not function.
EyeSight does not operate. (Models with EyeSight)

NOTE: When the VDC control module & H/U is replaced, this DTC may be stored.

CHECK VDCCM & H/U IDENTIFICATION SYMBOL .
Check the identification symbol attached on the H/U. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>SPECIFICATION .

Is the identification symbol correct?

Yes : Go to 2.

No : Replace the VDC control module & H/U. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM & H/U) .
CHECK PARAMETER SELECTED IN VDCCM .
Check the VDC control module parameters. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM & H/U)>MAINTENANCE MODE>VDCCM PARAMETER CHECK .

Does the parameter registered in the VDC control module match the relevant vehicle?

Yes : Go to 3.

No : Select and register the correct parameter. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM & H/U)>MAINTENANCE MODE>VDCCM PARAMETER SELECTION .
CHECK SPECIFICATIONS OF OTHER CONTROL MODULES .
Check the specifications of ECM and TCM.

Are the specifications of ECM and TCM the same as vehicle specification?

Yes : Replace the VDC control module & H/U. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM & H/U) .

No : Replace the ECM and TCM. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) . Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580) (EXCEPT FOR WILDERNESS)>TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) .
