Roll Connector: Removal
CAUTION:
Refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" before handling the airbag system components. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
- Set the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Remove the driver's airbag module. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the steering wheel assembly. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>STEERING WHEEL>REMOVAL .
- Remove the column cover assembly. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>STEERING COLUMN>REMOVAL .
- Remove the steering roll connector assembly.CAUTION: Make sure that the steering roll connector is not turned from the original position.
- Disconnect the connector under the steering roll connector. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>STEERING ROLL CONNECTOR .
- Release the claws and remove the steering roll connector assembly.
- Remove the sensor assembly VSC (VDC) steering.
- Release the claws and remove the sensor assembly VSC (VDC) steering (b) from the steering roll connector (a).
