DTC B16C5: Vehicle Speed (A/B)

DTC detecting condition:

Abnormality in the vehicle speed received from VSC (VDC) Control Module is detected.

Trouble symptom:

Identification of the occupant in the passenger's seat is not performed.

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to AIRBAG (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .

CHECK VSC (VDC) .
Perform the inspection for VSC (VDC). Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE .

Is the check result OK?

Yes: Go to 2.

No: Perform the diagnosis according to the inspection for VSC (VDC).
CHECK DTC .
Read the DTC of [Airbag] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to AIRBAG (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

Is DTC B16C5 displayed? (Current code)

Yes: Go to 3.

No: Finish the diagnosis.
CHECK LAN SYSTEM .
Perform the inspection for LAN system. Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE>PROCEDURE .

Is the check result OK?

Yes: Go to 4.

No: Perform the diagnosis according to the inspection for LAN system.
CHECK DTC .
Read the DTC of [Airbag] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to AIRBAG (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

Is DTC B16C5 displayed? (Current code)

Yes: Replace the airbag control module. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE .

No: Finish the diagnosis.
