Curtain Airbag Module: Removal
CAUTION:
Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Refer to NOTE>NOTE>BATTERY
.NOTE:
- For model with battery sensor, disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor.
- On CVT models, shift the select lever into "N" before disconnecting the battery ground cable.
- For model with the power seat, move the seat to the front-most position before removing the battery ground terminal.
- Remove the trim panel - roof assembly. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>ROOF TRIM>REMOVAL .
- Remove the curtain airbag module.CAUTION:
- Be careful not to damage the curtain airbag module during removal.
- Never open the curtain airbag module before activation. Never reuse the deployed curtain airbag module.
- Remove the modules in order starting from the vehicle front.
- Remove all the bolts and clips, and remove the curtain airbag module.
- Disconnect the curtain airbag module connector. Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE, CURTAIN AIRBAG MODULE AND PRETENSIONER .
