Engine Intake System (Induction) And Turbocharger (2.4L): Intercooler: Installation

  1. Replace the intake duct No. 2 gasket with a new part.

  2. Install the intercooler stay LH to the intake manifold assembly and install the vacuum pipe assembly stay to the intercooler stay LH.

    Tightening torque: 

    T1: 16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)

    T2: 18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.3 ft-lb)

  3. Using a new gasket, set the intercooler and the intake duct No. 3 as a unit.

  4. Connect the intake duct No. 3 to the intake duct No. 2 and lock it.
    CAUTION:
    • Make sure there are no damage or dust on connections. If necessary, clean the seal surface of the pipe.
    • Confirm that the connections are secure.
    NOTE: It is possible to install with the spring locked.

  5. Install the intercooler stay RH to the intake manifold assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)

  6. Install the bolts that secure the intercooler to the throttle body stay, intercooler stay RH and the intercooler stay LH.

    Tightening torque: 

    16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)
