Switching From Seat Heater To Seat Ventilation Is Not Possible

Trouble symptom:

The operation mode does not change to the seat ventilation, even if the seat ventilation switch is touched while the seat heater is operating.

Trouble causes:

Seat ventilation control module failure
A/C control module failure
Seat ventilation circuit failure
Seat heater circuit failure
Center information display failure
Cockpit control module failure
Seat ventilation blower failure

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to VENTILATION SEAT (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION .

CHECK SEAT SPECIFICATION .
Check the vehicle specification.

Is this vehicle equipped with seat ventilation?

Yes: Go to 2 .

No: Switching to seat ventilation is not possible.
CHECK SEAT VENTILATION SWITCH DISPLAY .
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
2. Touch the seat indicator on the center information display.
3. Check if the seat ventilation switch is displayed under the seat heater switch.
  Is the seat ventilation switch displayed?
  
  Yes: Go to 3 .
  
  No: Ref. to VENTILATION SEAT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>SEAT VENTILATION SWITCH IS NOT DISPLAYED .
CHECK CONNECTOR .
1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2. Check connecting condition of the seat ventilation control module connector (St41), A/C control module connectors (i107) (i108), seat connectors (L57) (R57), coupling connectors (B43) (L51) (R51) (St21) (St22), heater connectors (St27) (St28), and blower connectors (St71) (St72).
  Is the check result OK?
  
  Yes: Go to 4 .
  
  No: Repair the connector.
CHECK DTC .
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
2. Read the following DTCs using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to Ventilation Seat (Diagnostics)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) . Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
  - Ventilation Seat
  - Body Control
  - Air Conditioner
  - Cockpit Control
  Are any DTCs displayed?
  
  Yes: Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to Ventilation Seat (Diagnostics)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) . Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) . Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
  
  No: Go to 5 .
CHECK DISPLAY OF CENTER INFORMATION DISPLAY .
1. Start the engine.
2. Activate the seat heater.
3. Touch the seat ventilation switch.
4. Check if the display on the center information display changes.
  Does the display change?
  
  Yes: Go to 6 .
  
  No: Ref. to VENTILATION SEAT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>SWITCHING FROM SEAT HEATER TO SEAT VENTILATION IS NOT POSSIBLE (DISPLAY DOES NOT CHANGE EITHER) .
CHECK SEAT HEATER OPERATION STATUS .
1. Activate the seat heater.
2. After touching the seat ventilation switch, check if the seat heater is operating.
3. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check that the following items are [OFF] in the [Data monitor] of [Ventilation Seat]. Ref. to Ventilation Seat (Diagnostics)>Data Monitor .

  - Seat Heater Operation Steps(Passenger's)
4. After a predetermined period of time, check if the seat heater is operating.
  Is the seat heater operating?
  
  Yes: Go to 7 .
  
  No: Ref. to VENTILATION SEAT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>SEAT HEATER TURNS OFF, SEAT VENTILATION DOES NOT OPERATE .
CHECK SEAT VENTILATION OPERATION STATUS .
1. Touch the seat ventilation switch.
2. Check if the seat ventilation is operating.
  Does the seat ventilation operate?
  
  Yes: Ref. to VENTILATION SEAT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>SEAT HEATER DOES NOT TURN OFF, SEAT VENTILATION OPERATES .
  
  No: Ref. to VENTILATION SEAT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>SEAT HEATER DOES NOT TURN OFF, AND SEAT VENTILATION DOES NOT OPERATE EITHER .
