Mirror Surface Moves Unexpectedly (Driver's Seat)
Trouble causes:
- Short circuit to power supply in harness
- Remote control mirror switch malfunction
- Outer mirror assembly (driver's seat) malfunction
- Outer mirror control module (driver's seat) malfunction
- CHECK DTC
.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for 20 seconds or more.
- Read the DTC of [Door Mirror (Driver)] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to Door Mirror (Diagnostics)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .
Are any DTCs displayed? (Current malfunction)
Yes : Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to Door Mirror (Diagnostics)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) .
No : Go to 2 .
- CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Check that the following connectors are properly connected. Repair the connector if any broken pin or poor mating is detected.
- Remote control mirror switch connector
- Outer mirror assembly (driver's seat) connector
- Outer mirror control module (driver's seat) connector
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Check that the faulty phenomenon is reproduced.
Is the faulty phenomenon reproduced?
Yes : Go to 3 .
No : Since the poor contact of connector has repaired, the circuit condition returned to normal.
- CHECK INPUT SIGNAL
.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the input signal on the [Data monitor] of [Door Mirror (Driver)]. Ref. to Door Mirror (Diagnostics)>Data Monitor .
- Mirror SW Input Status
Does the display change properly corresponding to the remote control mirror switch (mirror surface switch) operation?
Yes : Go to 6 .
No : Go to 4 .
- CHECK REMOTE CONTROL MIRROR SWITCH
.
Check remote control mirror switch unit. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOW/MIRRORS>REMOTE CONTROL MIRROR SWITCH .
Is the remote control mirror switch OK?
Yes : Go to 5 .
No : Replace the remote control mirror switch. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOW/MIRRORS>REMOTE CONTROL MIRROR SWITCH .
- CHECK HARNESS (SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY)
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the outer mirror control module (driver's seat) connector.
- Disconnect the remote control mirror switch connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Using a tester, measure the voltage between outer mirror control module (driver's seat) connector and chassis ground.
