Instrument Panel Lower Cover: Removal

CAUTION:
  • Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  • Be careful not to damage the airbag system harness when servicing the instrument panel. Damage may cause the system to malfunction.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Release the clips, and remove the under cover assembly driver.

  3. Remove the clips, and remove the cover assembly instrument panel side LWR LH.
    NOTE:
    • Use a plastic remover.
    • If removing is difficult, remove the weather strip and remove it from the gap using a plastic remover.

  4. Remove the cover LWR driver.
    CAUTION:
    • When removing the cover LWR driver, be sure to pull it toward you.

    • If attempting to remove by turning it laterally, the bridging part may be damaged.

    • If attempting to remove by turning it upward, the claws may be damaged.

    1. Remove the screws and release the clips.
    2. Disconnect each connector and remove the cover LWR driver.

  5. Release the clips and claws, and remove the cover steering LWR.
