Wrong Location Of Vehicle, No GPS Reception

Probable cause: 

Influence by external devices, GPS antenna circuit malfunction, vehicle seed sensor circuit malfunction, unit body malfunction

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION .
  1. CHECK SYMPTOM  .

    Check in which condition (place) the vehicle is located out of position.

    Does it occur in any places?

    Yes:  Go to  2 .

    No:  Go to  4 .

  2. CHECK EXTERNAL DEVICE INSTALLATION  .

    Check if an external device is installed near the GPS antenna or unit.

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes:  Go to  3 .

    No:  Remove the external device. There is no failure if it returns to normal. If the fault is not fixed: Go to  3 .

  3. CHECK DIAGNOSTIC MODE  .

    Check the GPS item on the service diagnostic mode. Ref. to Cockpit Control (Diagnostics)>Service Diagnostics Mode .

    Is the display OK?

    Yes:  Go to  5 .

    No:  Go to  4 .

  4. CHECK GPS ANTENNA  .

    Check that the GPS antenna connector is connected.

    Is the connector connected?

    Yes:  Replace the cockpit control module. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY .

    No:  Replace the GPS antenna. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>ANTENNA .

  5. INSPECTION OF VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR  .

    Read the DTC of [Brake Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

    Are any DTCs displayed?

    Yes:  Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST .

    No:  Go to  6 .

  6. CHECK VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL  .

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data monitor] of [Cockpit Control]. Ref. to Cockpit Control (Diagnostics)>Data Monitor .

    • Speed

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes:  Replace the cockpit control module. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY .

    No:  Check the VDC control module. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM & H/U) .
