DTC P0D56-11: Charging Connector Proximity Detection Circuit Short To Ground: Notes

Outline of diagnosis:
PISW terminal voltage was 0.35 V or less continuously for the prescribed length of time. (1 trip detection logic)
Trouble symptom:
Plug-in charging suspended
Wiring diagram:
Charging system Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM (CROSSTREK MODEL (HEV))>CHARGING SYSTEM>WIRING DIAGRAM .
- CHECK Electric vehicle charger cable assembly UNIT (OPEN CIRCUIT)
.
Check the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly unit. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>CHARGE CABLE>INSPECTION .
Is the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly OK?
Yes: Go to 2.
No: Replace Electric vehicle charger cable assembly.
- CHECK THE Wire harness AND CONNECTOR (Electric vehicle charger assembly - Charging inlet)
.CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
- Check that the Service plug is disconnected. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG .
- Disconnect Electric vehicle charger assembly connector (HV31).
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between AC charger inlet cable (Charging inlet) connector and chassis ground, and between AC charger inlet cable (Charging inlet) terminals.

(HV29) No. 4 - (HV29) No. 5:
(HV29) No. 4 - Chassis ground:
Is the resistance 2.3 - 3.0 kΩ?
Yes: Replace Electric vehicle charger assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER .
No: Go to 3.
- CHECK AC charger inlet cable
.
- Disconnect AC charger inlet cable connector (HV27).
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between AC charger inlet cable (Charging inlet) connector and chassis ground, and between AC charger inlet cable (Charging inlet) terminals.

(HV29) No. 4 - (HV29) No. 5:
(HV29) No. 4 - Chassis ground:
Is the resistance 2.3 - 3.0 kΩ?
Yes: Repair or replace the Wire harness between the AC charger inlet cable and chassis ground.
No: Repair or replace the AC charger inlet cable. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>CHARGE INLET .
