Center Brake Pipe

  1. Perform the accumulator down drive. (Hybrid model) Ref. to BRAKE>BRAKE SYSTEM>OPERATION>ACCUMULATOR DOWN DRIVE .
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE: For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  3. Lift up the vehicle, and then remove the rear wheels.
  4. Remove the crossmember support - rear RH. Ref. to FRONT SUSPENSION>CROSSMEMBER SUPPORT>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the fuel tank protector.
  6. Remove the floor under protector RH. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>FLOOR UNDER PROTECTOR>REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the rear exhaust pipe. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>REAR EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL .
  8. Remove the propeller shaft assembly. Ref. to DRIVE SHAFT SYSTEM>PROPELLER SHAFT>REMOVAL .
  9. Remove the rear differential.
  10. Remove the fuel tank.
  11. Remove the support - sub frame.
    CAUTION: Support the sub frame assembly with a transmission jack so that an excessive force is not applied to the rear suspension assembly.

  12. Remove the pipe assembly center.
    1. Separate each brake pipe using a flare nut wrench.

    2. Remove the pipe assembly center.
