Passenger's Airbag Module: Removal

CAUTION: Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE:
    • For CVT models, release the shift lock and shift the select lever to the "N" position.
    • For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.
    • For power seat models, remove the console box and move the front seat backward before disconnecting the ground terminal from the battery sensor or disconnecting the battery negative terminal.
  3. Remove the instrument panel assembly. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the tapping screws and release the claws, and remove the passenger's airbag module.

  5. For handling of the removed airbag module, refer to "CAUTION". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
