Rear Hub Unit Bearing: Inspection

Moving the rear tire up and down by hand, check there is no looseness at rear hub unit bearing, and check the wheel rotates smoothly.
CAUTION: If there is unsmooth sliding operation or abnormal noise in the bearing, replace the rear hub unit bearing.

Use a magnet stand and dial gauge to check for looseness in the axial direction of the rear hub unit bearing. Replace the rear hub unit bearing if looseness exceeds the limit. Ref. to DRIVE SHAFT SYSTEM>REAR HUB UNIT BEARING>REMOVAL .

0.05 mm (0.002 in)
