Brake Stroke Sensor

CAUTION:
  • Before handling the airbag system components, always refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  • Perform linear valve offset learning after the brake stroke sensor was removed and reinstalled or replaced. If learning was not performed, brake control will be prohibited (brake pedal will be heavy), a DTC is stored, the brake warning light illuminates, or other problems will occur.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the cover assembly - instrument panel LWR driver. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the knee airbag module. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>KNEE AIRBAG MODULE>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the duct - foot driver. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (HEV)>HEATER DUCT>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the hybrid powertrain control module. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE>REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the brake stroke sensor.
    1. Disconnect the brake stroke sensor connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and remove the brake stroke sensor.
