Brake Accumulator ASSY: Removal

CAUTION: Do not allow brake fluid to come in contact with the painted surface of the vehicle body. If it does, wash off with water and wipe away completely.
  1. Perform the accumulator down drive. Ref. to BRAKE>BRAKE SYSTEM>OPERATION>ACCUMULATOR DOWN DRIVE .
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  3. Lift up the vehicle, and then remove the front and rear wheels.
  4. Move the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE BOOT>REMOVAL .
    NOTE: With the PCV hose connected, remove the air intake boot from the air cleaner case (rear) and throttle body.
  5. Remove expansion valve - cooler assembly. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (HEV)>EXPANSION VALVE>REMOVAL .
  6. Disconnect reservoir joint pipe.

  7. Disconnect the front brake pipe assembly (pipe between brake accumulator assembly and master cylinder).
    1. Disconnect bracket - pipe A and bracket - pipe B.
    2. Disconnect the front brake pipe assembly (pipe between brake accumulator assembly and master cylinder).

  8. Remove the brake accumulator assembly and the bracket - accumulator.
    1. Disconnect the brake accumulator assembly connector.
    2. Remove the bolts and remove the brake accumulator assembly and the bracket - accumulator.

  9. Remove the nut and harness clip, and remove the brake accumulator assembly from the bracket - accumulator.
