DTC B2250: USB-Box OVERCURRENT Faults

Trouble symptom:

USB is connected but not detected.

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to INFOTAINMENT (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .

CHECK DTC .
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Infotainment]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>CLEAR MEMORY .
3. Turn the ignition switch OFF → ON.
4. Read the DTC of [Infotainment] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to INFOTAINMENT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC B2250 displayed? (Current malfunction)

Yes: Go to 2.

No: Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
CHECK USB CHARGE .
Confirm that USB charge is possible.

Is the USB charge possible?

Yes: Go to 3.

No: For the USB2 port type, replace the unit assembly - AUX. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>EXTERNAL CONNECTION TERMINAL .

For the USB1 port type, replace the audio or navigation unit. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>AUDIO . Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>NAVIGATION BODY .
CHECK OTHER USB DEVICES .
Check the condition by connecting a USB device that was connected in the past.

Is this USB device detected?

Yes: The device was faulty.

No: Go to 4.
CHECK HARNESS .
Check the harness between the audio or navigation unit and AUX unit. (Open circuit, short circuit to power supply, short circuit to ground, and poor contact)

Is the check result OK?

Yes: Replace the unit assembly - AUX. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>EXTERNAL CONNECTION TERMINAL . Go to 5.

No: Repair the harness.
CHECK DTC .
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

3. Turn the ignition switch OFF → ON.
4. Read the DTC of [Infotainment] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to INFOTAINMENT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC B2250 displayed? (Current malfunction)

Yes: Replace the audio or navigation unit. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>AUDIO . Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>NAVIGATION BODY .

No: Finish the diagnosis.
