DTC B224D: XM/Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service Antenna Faults(Shorted Or Open)

Trouble symptom: 

SXM is not received.

1. CHECK DTC  .
   1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Infotainment]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>CLEAR MEMORY .
   3. Turn the ignition switch OFF → ON.
   4. Read the DTC of [Infotainment] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to INFOTAINMENT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

   Is DTC B224D displayed? (Current malfunction)

   Yes:  Go to  2.

   No:  Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

   NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
2. RECEIVING SUBSCRIPTION CHECK  .

   Confirm that user is subscribed to SXM.

   Is the user subscribed to SXM?

   Yes:  Go to  3.

   No:  Cannot receive because of no subscription.

3. CHECK SXM CONDITION  .

   Select station in the condition where SXM is received.

   Is SXM received?

   Yes:  Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

   NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.

   No:  Go to  4.

4. CHECK ANTENNA  .

   Visually check the antenna and check the connectors. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>ANTENNA .

   Is the check result OK?

   Yes:  Replace the audio or navigation unit. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>AUDIO . Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>NAVIGATION BODY .

   No:  Replace the antenna. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>ANTENNA .
