Hybrid Model
NOTE:
The electric brake booster control module (EBBCM) is integrated with the master cylinder.
- Perform the accumulator down drive. Ref. to BRAKE>BRAKE SYSTEM>OPERATION>ACCUMULATOR DOWN DRIVE .
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Lift up the vehicle, and then remove the front and rear wheels.
- Move the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE BOOT>REMOVAL
.NOTE: With the PCV hose connected, remove the air intake boot from the air cleaner case (rear) and throttle body.
- Remove the engine control module (ECM). Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO(HEV))>ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)>REMOVAL .
- Remove the connectors and clips of the adapter cord.
- Remove the brake pipe assembly from the pipe clip.
- Release the claws, remove the clips and nuts, and remove the bracket - adapter cord.
- Disconnect the brake pipe assembly and the reservoir joint pipe from the electric brake booster control module (EBBCM).
- Remove the cover assembly - instrument panel LWR driver. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER>REMOVAL .
- Remove the knee airbag module. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>KNEE AIRBAG MODULE AND PASSENGER'S LAP SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER .
- Remove the universal joint assembly - steering. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>UNIVERSAL JOINT>REMOVAL
.CAUTION: To prevent damage to the universal joint assembly - steering and improper steering effort, make sure to remove the universal joint assembly - steering.
- Remove the column assembly - steering. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>STEERING COLUMN>REMOVAL .
- Remove the duct - foot driver. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (HEV)>HEATER DUCT>REMOVAL .
- Remove the hybrid powertrain control module. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the snap pin (a) and clevis pin (b), and remove the operating rod from the brake pedal.CAUTION:
- Be careful not to apply excessive force to the operating rod when handling the operating rod. The angle may change by ±3°, and it may result in damage to power piston cylinder.
- Do not change the push rod length.
- Remove the electric brake booster control module (EBBCM).
CAUTION:
- Do not disassemble the electric brake booster control module (EBBCM).
- Do not subject the electric brake booster control module (EBBCM) to any strong impact.
- Be careful not to drop the electric brake booster control module (EBBCM). If the electric brake booster control module (EBBCM) was dropped, replace the EBBCM.
- Place the electric brake booster control module (EBBCM) on the floor as follows.
- Remove the nuts and remove the electric brake booster control module (EBBCM).
