The electric brake booster control module monitors the voltage of the pump motor. When the pump motor is instructed to be off and the voltage of the pump motor is within the range of a short circuit malfunction (voltage value is practically equal to that when on), a short circuit is judged and the MIL is illuminated and stores a DTC.
