The electric brake booster control module monitors the voltage of the pump motor. When the pump motor relay is instructed to be on and the voltage of the pump motor is within the range of an open circuit malfunction (voltage value is practically equal to that when off), an open circuit is judged and the MIL is illuminated and stores a DTC.
