Rear Shelf Trim: Removal

CAUTION:
  • Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  • Airbag system satellite safing sensor is located under the front center of the rear seat cushion. Be careful not to apply strong impact to the sensor when working with the rear seat cushion removed.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion assembly. Ref. to SEATS>REAR SEAT> REMOVAL .
  3. Release the clips and claws, and remove the side sill covers - rear INN on the left and right sides.
    CAUTION: Do not pull with excessive force. Doing so may damage the claws of the side sill cover - rear INN.

  4. Remove the trim panel - rear pillar UPR and trim panel - rear pillar LWR on the left and right sides. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>REAR QUARTER TRIM>REMOVAL>4 DOOR MODEL .
  5. Remove the trim panel assembly - rear shelf.
    1. Remove the bolts, and remove the lower anchor of the seat belt - rear shoulder CTR.
    2. Release the clips, and raise the rear shelf panel assembly.
    3. Release the belt guide, and guide the anchor of the seat belt - rear shoulder CTR to behind the trim panel - rear shelf assembly.
    4. Remove the trim panel assembly - rear shelf.
