DTC B2B28: Passenger's Door Power Window Continuous Reversal

DTC detecting condition: 

When the number of times for detected continuous reverse operation counts 10 times or more. (Condition for addition: completion of reserve operation due to anti-pinch feature)

Trouble symptom: 

When the power window sub-switch is operated, passenger's side window rolls down only in manual down operation, or inches up. (Inch up: Operating the switch rolls up the window about 10 mm only)

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  1. SYSTEM INITIALIZATION  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform [System Initialization] of [Power Window (Passenger)]. Ref. to POWER WINDOW (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT>OPERATION>SYSTEM INITIALIZATION .
      NOTE: Record the DTCs and FFD because they will be erased when the initialization is performed.
    3. Perform the initial setting of the power window. Ref. to GLASS/WINDOW/MIRRORS>POWER WINDOW SYSTEM>OPERATION .
    4. Operate the power window main switch and check that the power window (passenger's side) operates.

    Does the power window operate normally according to switch operation?

    Yes:  Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

    NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.

    No:  Go to  2.

  2. CHECK GLASS SLIDING SURFACE  .

    Inspect the following items.

    • Abnormal contact of the glass with the running channel
    • Running channel deformation or foreign materials caught in it
    • Running channel misalignment
    • Weather strips outer and inner that got caught in the glass
    • Glass that is at a slant or catches on something

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes:  Go to  3.

    No:  Repair or replace the faulty portion, Go to  3.

  3. CHECK GLASS SLIDING RESISTANCE  .
    1. Remove mounting bolts on the glass.
    2. Roll up/down the glass by hand and inspect the following items.
    • Abnormal contact of the glass with the running channel
    • Running channel deformation or foreign materials caught in it
    • Running channel misalignment
    • Weather strips outer and inner that got caught in the glass
    • Glass that is at a slant or catches on something

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes:  Replace the front regulator and motor assembly (passenger's side). Ref. to GLASS/WINDOW/MIRRORS>FRONT REGULATOR AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY .

    No:  Repair or replace faulty parts.
