Average Fuel Economy Is Not Displayed

Detecting condition:

Initial condition, communication circuit or MFD is abnormal.

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .

CHECK INITIAL CONDITION .
Check TRIP value.

Is it 1 km (0.6 mile) or more?

Yes: Go to 2.

No: After driving 1 km (0.6 mile) or more, check the value.
CHECK COMMUNICATION BETWEEN MFD AND HEAD UNIT .
1. Switch the screen to the electrical parts operation status screen.
2. Turn ON the headlight and check the headlight illumination on the electrical parts operation status screen.
is the headlight displayed?

Yes: Currently, system is normal.

No: Go to 3.
CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN MFD AND COMBINATION METER .
1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
2. Disconnect the MFD connector.
3. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
4. Using a tester, measure the resistance of harness between MFD connector and combination meter connector.

Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

Yes: Go to 4.

No: Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.
CHECK COMBINATION METER .
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
2. Read the DTC of [Combination Meter] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Are any DTCs displayed? (Current malfunction)

Yes: Perform the diagnosis according to displayed DTC. Ref. to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST .

No: Replace the MFD. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY (MFD) .
