DTC P0BE5-12: Drive Motor "A" Phase U Current Sensor Circuit Short To Battery: Notes

Detecting condition:

+ B power supply detour of motor inverter U-phase current sensor (main)

(1 trip detection logic)

Trouble symptom:
- Greatly reduced output power
- Driving in reverse not possible
- A driving range is limited
- Engine used while driving and engine speed becomes high
CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .

CHECK DTC .

Read the DTC of [P-HEV Drive Motor] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

When "Only DTC P0BE5-12, P0BE5-14, P0BE5-1F, P0BE9-12, P0BE9-14, P0BE9-1F, P0BED-12, P0BED-14 or P0BED-1F is displayed" or "DTC other than above is displayed at the same time", go to A.

When DTCs mentioned above are simultaneously displayed, go to B.

Yes:

Go to 2.
Perform the diagnosis for the simultaneously displayed DTCs. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST .
NOTE: If more than one DTC is simultaneously displayed, perform the diagnosis in the order described in the above.

No: -

CHECK THE CONNECTING CONDITION OF CONNECTOR (Inverter with converter assembly LOW PRESSURE CONNECTOR) .
CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
1. Check that the Service plug is disconnected. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG .
2. Check the connecting condition of low pressure connectors (HV23) and (HV24) in Inverter with converter assembly and check the relevant terminals for contact pressure, deformation and intrusion of water or foreign matter. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>INVERTER AND CONVERTER ASSEMBLY .
  NOTE: When connecting the connector, insert to the end with the lock lever raised, then fold the lock lever completely until a click is heard. After connected, make sure that the lock claw does not loosen and pull the connector to see that it does not come off.
  
  Is there looseness at the connector connection, or any poor contact, deformation or intrusion of water or foreign matter at the relevant terminals?
  
  Yes: Connect the connector securely. Or repair the poor contact of connector.
  
  No: Replace Inverter with converter assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>INVERTER AND CONVERTER ASSEMBLY .
