Generator demagnetization
When generator magnetic force dropped
(1 trip detection logic)
Trouble symptom:
- Reduced output power
- Engine used while driving and engine speed becomes high
- When Engine always stopped, A driving range is limited.

- Perform the diagnosis for the simultaneously displayed DTCs.NOTE: If more than one DTC is simultaneously displayed, perform the diagnosis in the order described in the above.

- CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA AND DIAGNOSTIC RELATED INFORMATION

- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read [Diagnosis Related Information] of [P-HEV Drive Motor]. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT .
- Read the DTC of [P-HEV Drive Motor] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)

When diagnostic related information DTC P3124-87 is displayed, go to A.
When diagnostic related information DTC P3124-87 is not displayed and freeze frame data [Emergency Shutdown Signal] is ON, go to B.
For cases other than above, go to C.
Yes:
- Perform the diagnosis of DTC P3124-1F. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>DTC P3124-1F: LOST COMMUNICATION BETWEEN DRIVE MOTOR "A" AND HV ECU CIRCUIT INTERMITTENT .
- Perform the diagnosis of DTC P321E-9F. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE WITH DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>DTC P321E-9F: MOTOR/GENERATOR SHUTDOWN SIGNAL STUCK OFF .
- Go to 3.
No: -
- CHECK DTC
.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [P-HEV Drive Motor]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>CLEAR MEMORY .
- Turn to READY ON.
- Move to P position.
- Turn the air conditioner ON and wait for 1 minute in the status of Engine always stopped.NOTE: When the engine starts, run the engine until it stalls. Wait for 1 minute after Engine always stopped.
- Read the DTC of [P-HEV Drive Motor] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)

Is DTC other than P0A92-00 or P1CA5-1D displayed?
Yes: Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST .
No: Go to 4.
- CHECK DTC

- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [P-HEV Drive Motor]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>CLEAR MEMORY .
- Turn to READY ON.
- Depress the brake pedal firmly using your left foot.
- Move to D position.
- Fully depress the accelerator pedal for 5 seconds, and then release the accelerator pedal.CAUTION: At this time, be sure to apply the parking brake and foot brake fully so that the vehicle does not move.
- Read the DTC of [P-HEV Drive Motor] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)

Is DTC other than P0A92-00 or P1CA5-1D displayed?
Yes: Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Ref. to P-HEV DRIVE MOTOR (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)>LIST .
No: Go to 5.
- CHECK THE CONNECTING CONDITION OF CONNECTOR (Inverter with converter assembly LOW PRESSURE CONNECTOR)
.CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
- Check that the Service plug is disconnected. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG .
- Check the connecting condition of low pressure connectors (HV23) and (HV24) in Inverter with converter assembly and check the relevant terminals for contact pressure, deformation and intrusion of water or foreign matter. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>INVERTER AND CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
.NOTE: When connecting the connector, insert to the end with the lock lever raised, then fold the lock lever completely until a click is heard. After connected, make sure that the lock claw does not loosen and pull the connector to see that it does not come off.
Is there looseness at the connector connection, or any poor contact, deformation or intrusion of water or foreign matter at the relevant terminals?
Yes: Connect the connector securely. Or repair the poor contact of connector.
No: Go to 6.
- CHECK Shut Down Signal Circuit

Check Shut Down Signal Circuit. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>SHUT DOWN SIGNAL CIRCUIT .
Is the Shut Down Signal Circuit OK?
Yes: Go to 7.
No: Repair according to Shut Down Signal Circuit inspection. And then, Go to 7.
- CHECK GENERATOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT
.
Check GENERATOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT. Ref. to P-HEV HYBRID POWERTRAIN CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTICS WITH PHENOMENON>INSPECTION>GENERATOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT .
Is the GENERATOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT OK?
Yes: Replace Transmission assembly. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TH2A)>TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY .
No: Repair according to GENERATOR HIGH-VOLTAGE CIRCUIT inspection.
