Service Plug: Removal

WARNING: The hybrid system includes a high voltage circuit. Mishandling could cause accidents such as electric shock or leak. Always check "WARNING (HYBRID SYSTEM)" and perform the proper operation. Ref. to PRECAUTION/WARNING>WARNING (HYBRID SYSTEM) .
CAUTION: Take the access key out of the vehicle to avoid malfunctions of hybrid system.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Take out the mat - rear floor.
    1. Release the clips and hooks, and remove the mat - rear floor.

  3. Remove the service plug cover.
    1. Remove the clips and bolts, then remove the service plug cover.

  4. Remove the service disconnect plug.
    WARNING:
    • Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
    • Carry the removed service disconnect plug in your pocket in order to prevent other engineers from accidentally installing the plug during work.
    • After removal of the service disconnect plug, the inverter with converter assembly will still contain a high voltage charge. Therefore, wait for at least 10 minutes before contacting the high voltage components, wiring, terminals or connectors.
    CAUTION: In order to prevent malfunctions, do not turn the ignition switch to ON with the service disconnect plug removed.
    1. Slide the lever toward the left side of the vehicle.
    2. Raise the lever until it is vertical.
    3. Pull the lever upward and pull out the service disconnect plug from the holder section of the HV battery.
      CAUTION:
      • After removing the service disconnect plug, protect the holder section with tape, etc. to prevent intrusion of foreign matter such as water or dusts.
      • Do not touch the service disconnect plug terminals.
