Draining Fuel (With Other Than SUBARU Select Monitor)

CAUTION: Be careful not to spill fuel.

NOTE: If the fuel gauge indicates "F", perform "DRAINING FUEL PARTIALLY". Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FUEL>PROCEDURE>DRAINING FUEL PARTIALLY .

Open the fuel filler lid and remove the fuel filler cap.
NOTE: This operation is required to release the inner pressure of the fuel tank.
Remove the fuel pump assembly. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FUEL PUMP>REMOVAL .
Remove the fuel sub level sensor. (Crosstrek model) Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FUEL SUB LEVEL SENSOR>REMOVAL .
Drain the fuel from the fuel tank using the gasoline proof pump.
CAUTION:
- Be careful not to spill fuel.
- Always collect fuel using a dedicated fuel container.
Install the related parts in the reverse order after draining the fuel.
