Thermostat Cover

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install a new gasket to the thermostat. (2.0 L model)
    NOTE: Align the positions of the jiggle pin (a) and the positioning rib (b) of the gasket.

  2. Install the thermostat. (2.0 L model)
    NOTE: Align the positions of groove (a) of the oil pan upper and the positioning rib (b) of the gasket.

  3. Install a new gasket to the oil pan upper. (2.5 L model)
    NOTE: Align the positions of groove (a) of the oil pan upper and the positioning rib (b) of the gasket.

  4. Install the thermostat cover.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  5. Connect the radiator outlet hose.
  6. Install the front exhaust pipe. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FRONT EXHAUST PIPE>INSTALLATION .
  7. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  8. Fill engine coolant.

    2.0 L model:  Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT>2.0 L MODEL .

    2.5 L model:  Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT>2.5 L MODEL .
