Drive Pinion: Inspection

NOTE:

For backlash between the differential bevel gear and differential bevel pinion, refer to "Front differential". Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 CROSSTREK)>FRONT DIFFERENTIAL>ASSEMBLY .

Check each part for excessive wear.
Check that there is no deformation, cracks or other damages.
Check the bearing for smooth rotation.
Check the drive pinion initial load. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580 CROSSTREK)>DRIVE PINION>INSTALLATION .
