Only Orientation & And Turn By Turn Screens Are Not Displayed

Detecting condition: 

Communication circuit, navigation or MFD is abnormal.

Wiring diagram: 

• Multi-function display (MFD) system Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM>Multi-function Display (MFD) System>WIRING DIAGRAM .
• CAN communication system Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM>CAN Communication System>WIRING DIAGRAM .

1. CHECK HEAD UNIT  .

   Check the grade of the head unit.

   Is the head unit Hi grade (with navigation)?

   Yes  : Go to  2.

   No  : System is normal. The contents are displayed only on Hi grade (with navigation) head unit.

2. CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT  .
   1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
   2. Disconnect the MFD connector.
   3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   4. Using a tester, measure the voltage between the MFD connector and chassis ground.

   Connector & terminal 

   (i122) No. 23 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

   Is the voltage 10 V or more?

   Yes  : Go to  3.

   No  : Repair or replace the open circuit of harness. (Check battery as well as fuse.)

3. CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN MFD AND HEAD UNIT  .
   1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
   2. Disconnect the MFD connector.
   3. Disconnect the head unit connector.
   4. Using a tester, measure the resistance in harness between the MFD connector and head unit connector.

   Connector & terminal 

   (i122) No. 19 - (i87) No. 9:

   (i122) No. 20 - (i87) No. 10:

   Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

   Yes  : Go to  4.

   No  : Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.

4. CHECK HEAD UNIT  .

   Read the DTC of [Infotainment] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to INFOTAINMENT (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

   Are any DTCs displayed? (Current malfunction)

   Yes  : Perform the diagnosis according to displayed DTC. Ref. to INFOTAINMENT (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>LIST .

   No  : Replace the MFD. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY (MFD) .
