Intake Duct No. 1

  1. Connect the water hose to the intake duct No. 1.
  2. Install the intake duct No. 1 using new O-rings and gaskets.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  3. Connect the vacuum hose and the water hose.

  4. Connect the PCV pipe assembly to the intake duct No. 1 with a new O-ring, and lock it.
    CAUTION:
    • Make sure there are no damage or dust on connections. If necessary, clean the seal surface of the pipe.
    • Confirm that the connections are secure.
    NOTE: It is possible to install with the spring locked.

  5. Connect the air intake boot to the intake duct No. 1.
    NOTE: Align the cutout portion of the air intake boot to the protrusion on the intake duct No. 1.

    Tightening torque: 

    2.5 N.m (0.3 kgf-m, 1.8 ft-lb)

  6. Install the under cover front. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>Front Under Cover>INSTALLATION .
  7. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  8. Fill engine coolant. Refer to COOLING (H4DOTC)>Engine Coolant>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
