    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the inhibitor switch connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Measure the voltage between connector terminal and chassis ground.

      Connector & terminal

      Engine type: FB

      (T31) No. 5 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

      Engine type: FA

      (T31) No. 6 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

Is the voltage 10 V or more?

    Yes  : Go to  2.

    No  :

    • Check the fuse.
    • Check for open or short circuit in the harness between inhibitor switch and ECM.
  2. CHECK INHIBITOR SWITCH CIRCUIT  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between inhibitor switch connector terminal and ECM connector terminal.

      Connector & terminal

      Engine type: FB model

      (T31) No. 5 - (B62) No. 50:

      Engine type: FA model
