Wrong Location Of Vehicle, No GPS Reception

Probable cause: 

Influence by external devices, GPS antenna circuit malfunction, vehicle seed sensor circuit malfunction, unit body malfunction

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Refer to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION .
  1. CHECK SYMPTOM  .

    Check in which condition (place) the vehicle is located out of position.

    Does it occur in any places?

    Yes  : Go to  2.

    No  : Go to  4.

  2. CHECK EXTERNAL DEVICE INSTALLATION  .

    Check if an external device is installed near the GPS antenna or unit.

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes  : Go to  3.

    No  : Remove the external device. There is no failure if it returns to normal. If the fault is not fixed: Go to  3.

  3. CHECK DIAGNOSTIC MODE  .

    Check the GPS item on the service diagnostic mode. Refer to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>SERVICE DIAGNOSTICS MODE .

    Is the display OK?

    Yes  : Go to  5.

    No  : Go to  4.

  4. CHECK GPS ANTENNA  .

    Check that the GPS antenna connector is connected.

    Is the connector connected?

    Yes  : Replace the cockpit control module. Refer to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY .

    No  : Replace the GPS antenna. Refer to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>ANTENNA .

  5. INSPECTION OF VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR  .

    Read the DTC of [Brake Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

    Are any DTCs displayed?

    Yes  : Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs. Refer to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)>LIST .

    No  : Go to  6.

  6. CHECK VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL  .

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data monitor] of [Cockpit Control]. Refer to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .

    • Speed

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes  : Replace the cockpit control module. Refer to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY .

    No  : Check the VDC CM. Refer to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM&H/U) .
