DTC B2251: Speaker Line Shorts To +B
DTC detecting condition:
Detected when the speaker signal line is shorted to power supply.
Trouble symptom:
Does not sound.
CAUTION:
Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Refer to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>General Description>CAUTION .
- CHECK DTC

- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Cockpit Control]. Refer to COMMON (DIAG)>CLEAR MEMORY .
- Turn the ignition switch OFF → ON.
- Read the DTC of [Cockpit Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC B2251 displayed? (Current malfunction)
Yes : Go to 2.
No : Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.
NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause. - CHECK CONNECTOR
.
Check the harness between the cockpit control module connector and audio amplifier.
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 3.
No : Repair the harness or replace the components.
- CHECK AUDIO AMPLIFIER
.
- Replace the audio amplifier with a new or properly functioning part. Refer to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>POWER AMPLIFIER .
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Cockpit Control]. Refer to COMMON (DIAG)>CLEAR MEMORY .
- Turn the ignition switch OFF → ON.
- Read the DTC of [Cockpit Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC B2251 displayed? (Current malfunction)
Yes : Return the audio amplifier to its original position, and replace the cockpit control module. Refer to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY .
No : Audio amplifier has a failure.
