Roll Connector: Removal

CAUTION: Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  1. Position the front wheels straight ahead.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  3. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  4. Remove the driver's airbag module. Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>STEERING WHEEL>REMOVAL .
  6. Remove the column cover assembly. Refer to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>STEERING COLUMN>REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the steering roll connector.
    CAUTION: Make sure that the steering roll connector is not turned from the original position.
    1. Disconnect the connector under the steering roll connector.
    2. Release the claws and remove the steering roll connector.

    3. Release the claws and separate the steering roll connector (a) and steering angle sensor (b).
