Knee Airbag Module: Removal

CAUTION:
  • Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  • Do not allow harness and connectors to interfere or get tangled up with other parts.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  3. Remove the cover LWR driver. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the knee airbag module.
    1. Disconnect the connector of knee airbag module. Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>KNEE AIRBAG MODULE, FRONT SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER. ADAPTIVE FORCE LIMITER & LAP SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER .
    2. Remove the data link connector.
    3. Remove the nuts, and remove the knee airbag module.
