Rear Gate Opener Button: Removal

NOTE: The button - opener rear gate of the model with keyless access with push button start is integrated with the rear lock button. For operation procedures, refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>REAR LOCK BUTTON>REMOVAL .
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from 12V engine restart battery sensor. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE: For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the trim panel - rear gate. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>REAR GATE TRIM>REMOVAL
  3. Remove the garnish assembly - rear gate. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>REAR GATE GARNISH>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the button - opener rear gate.
    CAUTION: When using a flat tip screwdriver, apply protective tape or cloth and be careful not to cause damage.
    1. Remove the button - opener rear gate by pressing the lock portions on both sides.
