The VDC Warning Light Illuminates

Trouble causes:

CAN communication failure
VDC warning light malfunction
Combination meter malfunction

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS) (DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .

CHECK DTC .
Read the DTC of [Brake Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS) (HEV)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

Are any DTCs displayed? (Current malfunction)

Yes : Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs.

No : Go to 2.
CHECK DTC .
1. Start the engine.
2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read all DTCs. Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS) (HEV)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Is DTC U**** displayed? (Current malfunction)

Yes : Perform the diagnosis according to the basic diagnostic procedure in LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS). Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS) (HEV)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .

No : Go to 3.
CHECK VDC WARNING LIGHT. I
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Active Test] of [Combination Meter]. Ref. to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>ACTIVE TEST .
- VDC operation/failure indicator
Do the indicated amount on Subaru Select Monitor and the [VDC operation/failure indicator] indication match?

Yes : Check the VDC warning light. Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS) (HEV)>Warning Light Illumination Pattern .

No : Replace the combination meter. Ref. to INSTRUMENTATION/DRIVER INFO>COMBINATION METER .
