Hybrid Model: V-Belt
- Set the V-belt (A) as shown in the figure.CAUTION:
- Be sure to use a new V-belt.
- Be careful not to let oil, grease or coolant contact the V-belt.
- Be careful not to rub the V-belt end surface with bare hands; exposed core may cause injury.
- Wipe off any dust, oil and water on the groove of each pulley with cloth.
- Insert the wrench into the crank pulley bolt and hold it with your fingers to ensure the V-belt (A) rib will not be misaligned from the rib groove of the water pump pulley.
- With the state described in step 2, slowly turn the crank pulley clockwise until the V-belt (A) rib is seated properly on the rib groove of the water pump pulley. Then install the V-belt (A).CAUTION:
- If the V-belt rib is dislocated from the rib groove of the crank pulley while installing the V-beltNOTE: If the V-belt rib is dislocated from the rib groove of the crank pulley while installing the V-belt, perform the following steps for correction.
- Insert the wrench into the crank pulley bolt, and press the point shown in the figure with your fingers to ensure the V-belt at the rib side is tilted to the engine side.
- With the state described in step (1), slowly turn the crank pulley clockwise for correction until the V-belt rib is seated properly on the rib groove of the crank pulley.CAUTION: While rotating, be careful not to get your finger pinched between the V-belt and pulley to avoid injury.
- Turn the crank pulley clockwise slowly by approx. two turns until the V-belt is fitted.CAUTION: Before rotating, check again that the V-belt rib is properly seated on the rib groove of each pulley.
- When working on the vehicleNOTE: When working on the vehicle, perform the following steps also.
- Install the front under cover. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>FRONT UNDER COVER>INSTALLATION .
