Driver's Airbag Module: Removal
CAUTION:
Before handling the airbag system components, refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
- Position the front wheels straight ahead.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from the 12V engine restart battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY
.NOTE: For the hybrid model, disconnect the battery negative terminal.
- Remove the driver's airbag module.
- Using a hexagon wrench etc. wrapped by protective tape, insert the snap pins and release the locks (three locations).
- Disconnect the horn harness and airbag connector, and remove the driver's airbag module. Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE AND CURTAIN AIRBAG MODULE .
- Using a hexagon wrench etc. wrapped by protective tape, insert the snap pins and release the locks (three locations).
