Power Connect Cover

WARNING: The hybrid system includes a high voltage circuit. Mishandling could cause accidents such as electric shock or leak. Always check "WARNING (HYBRID SYSTEM)" and perform the proper operation. Ref. to PRECAUTION/WARNING>Warning (HYBRID SYSTEM) .
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the service disconnect plug. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG>REMOVAL .
    WARNING: After removal of the service disconnect plug, the condenser inside the inverter still has been charged to a high voltage. Wait for at least 10 minutes before handling the high voltage components, wiring, terminals or connectors.
  3. Remove the bolts which secure the power connect cover.
    WARNING: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.

  4. Insert an oil pan seal cutter into the gap between the power connect cover and transmission case, and remove the power connect cover.
    WARNING: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not use the tools other than the oil pan seal cutter in order to prevent damaging the power connect cover and the transmission case.
    • Do not twist with excessive force. The power connect cover may be deformed.
  5. Remove the liquid gasket from the power connect cover and the transmission case.
    WARNING: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
