Differential Gear Oil: Replacement

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: Vehicle components are extremely hot immediately after driving. Be wary of receiving burns from heated parts.
  1. Remove the filler plug (A).
  2. Drain the differential gear oil by removing drain plug (B) using TORX® bit T70.

  3. Remove the iron powder, etc. from the drain plug.
  4. Attach the drain plug (B) using a new gasket, using TORX® bit T70.

    Tightening torque: 

    70 N.m (7.1 kgf-m, 51.6 ft-lb)

  5. Remove the overflow plug (C).

  6. Add differential gear oil through the filler plug hole, and let the oil flow out of the overflow plug hole.

    Differential gear oil: 

    Ref. to RECOMMENDED MATERIALS .

    Differential gear oil capacity: 

    Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TH2A)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>SPECIFICATION .

  7. Check the differential gear oil level. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TH2A)>DIFFERENTIAL GEAR OIL>INSPECTION .
