Check The Electric Vehicle Charger Cable Assembly Unit
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Visual inspection (*A)NOTE:
- For the visual inspection, perform a comparison check with an Electric vehicle charger cable assembly that was confirmed to operate normally.
- If the power plug is damaged, replace the cable EV charger plug assembly.
- Due to the characteristics of the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly, the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly may harden or become kinked.
- If the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly is repeatedly stored wound up or folded, these issues become more likely and may eventually result in an open circuit.
- Check the unlock button.
- Connection inspection
- Check that smooth connection is possible when the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly and inlet AC charger cable (charging inlet) are connected.
Standard:
A smooth connection must be possible.
NOTE: If the check result is different from the standard, perform visual inspection (A), and also the following inspection. - Check that there is no bending or deformation of the pins (a) in the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly (charging connector).
Standard:
No bending or deformation of pins
NOTE: If the inspection result is not within the standard, replace the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly. - Check that there is no bending or deformation of the pins in the inlet AC charger cable (charging inlet).
Standard:
No bending or deformation of pins
NOTE: If the inspection result is not within the standard, replace the inlet AC charger cable (charging inlet).
- Check that smooth connection is possible when the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly and inlet AC charger cable (charging inlet) are connected.
- Check for short circuit.WARNING: Be sure to wear insulated gloves.
- Connect the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly to the outlet.NOTE: Do not connect the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly to the inlet AC charger cable (charging inlet).
- Measure the voltage between pins at the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly (charging connector).
Preparation tool:
Circuit tester
