DTC P04B6: Fuel Fill Door Stuck Closed: Notes
1. -
DTC detecting condition:
Detected when two consecutive driving cycles with fault occur.
Trouble symptom:
Even if the fuel lid is closed during refueling, refueling control cannot end (meter indication is also not reset).
Wiring diagram:
Engine Electrical System Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM (CROSSTREK MODEL (HEV))>ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM .
- CHECK DATA MONITOR
.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read the change in values of [Fuel Filler Lid Position] when the fuel lid is opened or closed.NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to "Common (Diagnostics)". Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>DATA MONITOR .
Does the value of [Fuel Filler Lid Position] change?
Yes: Even if (DTC is detected, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.
NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open circuit or short circuit to ground in harness may be the cause. No: Go to 2.
- CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND FUEL FLAP STATUS SWITCH (OPEN)
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the connector from ECM.
- Disconnect the connector from the fuel flap status switch.
- Measure the resistance of harness between ECM connector and fuel flap status switch connector.
Connector & terminal
(B134) No. 49 - (R539) No. 2:
Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?
Yes: Go to 3.
No: Repair the harness and connector.
NOTE: In this case, repair the following item:- Open circuit in harness between ECM connector and fuel flap status switch connector
- Poor contact of coupling connector
- CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND FUEL FLAP STATUS SWITCH (SHORT TO GROUND)
.
- Measure the resistance between the ECM connector and engine ground.
Connector & terminal
(B134) No. 49 - Engine ground:
Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?
Yes: Go to 4.
No: Repair the short circuit to ground in harness between ECM connector and fuel flap status switch connector.
- Measure the resistance between the ECM connector and engine ground.
- CHECK FUEL FLAP STATUS SWITCH
.
Check the fuel flap status switch. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>REMOTE OPENERS>INSPECTION>UNIT INSPECTION>FUEL FLAP STATUS SWITCH .
Is the check result OK?
Yes: Go to 5.
No: Replace the saucer - COMPL. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>REMOTE OPENERS>REMOVAL>FUEL LID>HYBRID MODEL .
NOTE: Fuel flap status switch cannot be disassembled. - CHECK FUEL FLAP STATUS SWITCH POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT
.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage between the fuel flap status switch connector and chassis ground.
Connector & terminal
(R539) No. 1 (+) - Chassis ground (-):
Is the voltage 10 V or more?
Yes: Repair the poor contact of ECM connector.
No: Repair the harness and connector.
NOTE: In this case, repair the following item:- Open or short to ground in harness of power supply circuit
- Poor contact of coupling connector
- Blown out of fuse
