Section 23 (Emission Control Systems (Aux. Emission Control Devices) (HEV)): Canister: Installation

  1. Connect the purge tube No. 1 (B) to the fuel pipe assembly, and install to the tube clamp. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE E) .
  2. Connect the vent tube No. 2 (A) to the electric vent solenoid valve assembly, and install to the tube clamp. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE H) .

  3. Connect the purge tube No. 2 (C). Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE D) .
  4. Connect the vent tube No. 1 (B). Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE H) .
  5. Install the canister protector (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    8 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.9 ft-lb)

  6. Install the drain filter. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE G) .
  7. Install the nut (A) securing the drain filter to the canister protector.

    Tightening torque: 

    8 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.9 ft-lb)

  8. Secure the harness to the canister protector, and connect the connector (A).

  9. Install the canister and drain filter as an assembly, and connect the connector (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    8 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.9 ft-lb)

  10. Connect the purge tube No. 2 (B) and install to the tube clamp. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE E) .
  11. Connect the vent tube No. 1 (A) and install to the tube clamp. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>INSTALLATION>QUICK CONNECTOR CONNECTION (TYPE H) .

  12. Install the mud guard - rear LH. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>MUD GUARD>INSTALLATION .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Install the rear wheel LH. Ref. to WHEEL AND TIRE SYSTEM>TIRE AND WHEEL>INSTALLATION .
  15. Connect the battery ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
