Section 12 (Engine Cooling System (HEV)): Thermostat: Installation

  1. Install a new gasket to the thermostat.
    NOTE: Align the positions of the jiggle pin (a) and the positioning rib (b) of the gasket.

  2. Install the thermostat and thermostat cover.
    NOTE: Align the positions of groove (a) of the oil pan upper and the positioning rib (b) of the gasket.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  3. Connect the radiator outlet hose.
  4. Install the front exhaust pipe. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FRONT EXHAUST PIPE>INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the battery ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  6. Fill engine coolant. (Engine side) Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT>ENGINE SIDE .
